NECESSARY TOOLS :
A clean and dry cloth, measuring tape, level, ruler, Exacto knife, scissors, an application spatula (included with your mural) and painters tape.
CAUTION: The installation of your mural should be done by two people.
STEP 1: SURFACE PREPARATION
To make sure that your mural adheres well to the surface, make sure the wall is completely smooth, clean and dry. Do not hesitate to remove any dust with a slightly damp cloth. Make sure there is no residue on the wall, such as paint drips and sanded surfaces must be impeccable, as any imperfections may be visible. If the paint is fresh, wait at least two weeks before installing your mural.
STEP 2: PREPARING FOR YOUR INSTALLATION
Note that it is best to install with another person. The back of all the panels included in your package are numbered. The number will be written at the top of each panel. They should be installed from left to right.
Align the first tile starting at the top left corner of the wall. If the wall has a deviation, the vinyl may protrude slightly on the left, at the top and at the bottom. That is fine. any excess will be trimmed away once the mural is completely installed. Secure the tile with tape. Before proceeding to the next step, make sure the panel is level.
STEP 3: INSTALL THE FIRST PANEL
Always use the soft side of the spatula. Peel the top of the film 2 inches and cut the non-sticky part of the panel. Apply the vinyl using the spatula provided for this purpose. Once the upper part has been fixed, continue the application by peeling off the backing. Make sure to stick the vinyl securely using the spatula. If bubbles appear, gently guide them to the outside of the tile. If that doesn't work, pierce them with a needle.
STEP 4: INSTALL THE SECOND PANEL
It is important to note that each new panel will overlap 1/2" over the previous panel. Place the second tile on the wall by following the same instructions as in the previous step. It is important the make sure that the image lines up perfectly from tile 1 to tile 2. Use tape to secure the tile in place.
The same instructions apply to any following panels.
STEP 5: CUT THE SURPLUS
Carefully cut off the excess with an exacto.
