Installation Guide - Electrostatic Films

Installation guide for electrostatic film

Electrostatic film is installed on a clean, smooth glass surface, without permanent glue. It is practical for adding a decorative effect or privacy to a window, glass door, or partition.

Clean the glass, spray soapy water, position the film, then squeegee out the water and bubbles. Carefully trim the excess for a neat finish.

1. Préparer la surface

It is important that the window be perfectly clean, free of dust or residue, smooth, and dry. You will achieve good results using a clean microfiber cloth and window cleaner. Ideally, wait before installing the film if the walls adjacent to the window have been painted within the last two weeks. Using water could damage the new paint. It is also important to thoroughly clean the surface around the window so that no dust gets trapped between the film and the glass during installation.

2. Prepare the installation
It is preferable to proceed in steps 2.

Remove the electrostatic film from its white backing. The first person will hold the film in front of them. The second person will generously spray the surface with the soapy water solution. Cloths will be very useful at this stage, as there will likely be a lot of water on the floor. Also spray the glass with the soapy water solution.

3. Install the film

Apply the film to the window, ensuring it is correctly positioned. Use an application squeegee (for example, a credit card wrapped in a paper towel) to remove any water trapped under the film. Press firmly on the squeegee.

The advantage of electrostatic film is that its application is temporary. You can remove the film without damaging the glass and reapply it to another surface as needed. To properly store the film, keep it flat.
