Installation Guide for Mural and Peel and Stick Wallpaper

Prepare your wall before installation: the surface must be clean, smooth, dry, primed, and painted for at least two weeks. This preparation helps the mural or peel and stick wallpaper adhere well and provide a more uniform result.

Before you begin, measure your wall, validate the panel order, and work slowly from top to bottom. For mural projects, a slight overlap between panels is normal and facilitates pattern alignment.

Required materials

Clean dry cloth
Level
Measuring tape
Squeegee (included)
Utility knife
Painter’s tape

Adequate surfaces

Smooth, dry, and clean surface, covered with one coat of primer and one or two coats of paint.

Please wait a minimum of 15 days before installing on a freshly painted surface.

Surfaces to avoid

Dirty, moldy or dusty surface

Textured, damaged or peeling surface

*it is not recommended to install directly on brick, wood, drywall, primer or plaster

Prepare the surface

Cut off the power to the electrical outlets in the area to be covered and carefully remove the cover plates.

Remove any objects hanging on the wall that could be an obstruction during installation.

Sand, fill, or repair any imperfections to make the surface completely smooth.

Wash the wall with a dry cloth (without cleaning products) to make it clean and free of dust and residue.

The surface must be smooth, clean, and completely dry before beginning installation.

Check numbering and connections

Unroll the panels on the floor, print side up, in numerical order (from left to right).

Check for any printing defects, that the total width is correct, and that the patterns align from one panel to the next (more on pattern alignment in the following sections).

In the event of a manufacturing defect or an error in your order, please contact us before installing the vinyl.

Fasten the first panel

Temporarily secure the 1st panel with tape, starting from the left and top of the wall.

Using a level or laser, ensure the first panel is straight by referring to the right vertical side. Do not rely on walls and ceilings, as they are not always level.

Peel off at least 6 inches of the white backing film, cut it, then attach the adhesive vinyl by
pressing firmly with the application squeegee in downward motions.

Peel off the rest of the backing film, one section at a time, and gradually apply the vinyl to the wall with the squeegee, ensuring the panel remains level.

Installation of the following panels, checking the connections

Install the following signs

Temporarily tape the panel to the wall, aligning the pattern with the previous panel.

Overlap the left vertical seam of the panel to be installed over the right vertical seam of the
previous panel.

It is crucial to ensure that the seams, also called overlaps, are well aligned from one panel to
the next. The overlaps must overlap by 0.5 inches, no more, no less.

At this stage, you will no longer need your level, just your eye to properly align each element of the pattern.

Correct yourself as needed by gently peeling off the vinyl to realign yourself.

Finish

If bubbles form, slide them towards the edges with the spatula or your hands.
You can also pop them with a needle, smoothing them down with your fingers.

Press firmly on the seams where there is excess vinyl and cut it with the X-Acto knife.

Cut around the electrical outlets, then reinstall the cover plates, making sure the
power is still off.
