Step 1: Measure Your Wall Precisely

Start by measuring the width and height of the area you want to cover, in centimetres. Measure at three different points (bottom, middle, top for width; left, centre, right for height) since walls aren't always perfectly straight. Note the largest measurement for each dimension.

If you want to cover the entire wall, add 5 cm on each side for installation margin. If you'd prefer a smaller mural that creates a framed, art-piece effect, define the exact area before measuring.

Step 2: Account for Obstacles

Outlets, light switches, windows, doors — these all affect how your wall mural will be placed. If your wall has a window, decide whether you want to cover only the solid portion or have the pattern continue around it. If so, note the required cutouts in your order.

Step 3: Choose the Ratio That Fits the Effect You Want

There are two main approaches:

• Full-wall mural: covers the entire surface, floor to ceiling. Immersive and dramatic — ideal for landscape, forest or large-scale abstract wall murals.
• Partial mural: covers 2/3 to 3/4 of the wall's height. A more contemporary look that leaves a band of solid colour above or below. Very trendy for bedrooms and living rooms.
