Working From Home: How to Set Up a Home Office You'll Love

Remote work, which was fairly uncommon before 2020, has now become the reality for many of us.

To stay motivated and focused, it's important to have a dedicated work space. No more workdays spent on the kitchen counter or the dining room table! In this article, you'll find tips for setting up a home office.

1- Define your space

It's not always possible to set aside an entire room for your office. In that case, it can be worthwhile to set up your work space in a dedicated corner of your home. If your desk is in the living room or your bedroom, define the space visually. For example, use a rug, wallpaper, or wall decor.

2- Make the space inviting

We spend several hours a week working. It's therefore essential that our work space feel welcoming, warm, and conducive to focus.

To do this, choose a bright space, for example near a window. If that's not possible, add lighting fixtures.

Also, prioritize light-colored furniture and colorful decor. Nothing is more energizing than a work space with vibrant colors!

3- Get the right furniture

We spend almost as much time in our office chair as we do in bed. That's why choosing a good-quality chair is so important. A good chair allows for proper adjustment — namely seat height and armrests.

On top of that, your desk needs to be at the right height for you. If you work on a laptop, consider raising it up so your neck stays straight. If you can, get a desk that lets you work standing up.
