April Artist Spotlight: Bernadett Urbanovics

Well, good news: warm weather is right around the corner!

To celebrate the arrival of our favourite season, we wanted to put flowers front and center, because they bring joy and can make any space feel bright and welcoming.

That's why we're thrilled to introduce Bernadett Urbanovics, a Montreal-based illustrator whose specialty is drawing flowers.

Self-taught, and with a background in architecture, Bernadett decided to dedicate herself fully to illustration after the birth of her first child. Her drawings, often featuring flowers and animals, translated beautifully onto children's clothing, which helped fuel her growing popularity in the world of sewing and fabric design.

Bernadett lives in a small village that inspires her deeply. Nature, the forest, and open meadows are what fuel her creativity. She also loves drawing on childhood memories to bring a vintage, nostalgic touch to her work.

What makes Bernadett's work so unique is her process and the range of mediums she uses. She loves starting a new illustration by hand, with pencils, ink, and watercolor paint, then finishing it digitally. Her color choices and the fine detail in her illustrations make her patterns a perfect fit for wallpaper.
